I am currently recruiting for several motivated Graduate Maintenance Engineer to join my clients world class engineering team.

In this role, you'll play a key part in developing and supporting maintenance systems, tools, and processes that drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles.

Working closely with the wider maintenance function, you'll help improve equipment reliability, optimise maintenance performance, and support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop a culture where planned and predictive maintenance is the preferred approach, supporting the application of reliability and asset management techniques across the manufacturing operation.
  • Work alongside engineering and production teams to improve the reliability, efficiency, and lifespan of manufacturing equipment through effective maintenance practices.
  • Produce, update, and maintain maintenance documentation, including standard operating procedures, task instructions, and maintenance schedules to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining visual maintenance tools and performance dashboards that provide clear information on equipment condition, maintenance activities, and key performance measures.
  • Participate in improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime, increasing equipment availability, and enhancing overall manufacturing performance.
  • Review equipment and maintenance performance data to identify trends, investigate recurring issues, and support the implementation of long-term corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of maintenance systems and processes, ensuring they align with operational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a closely related engineering discipline, or be due to complete their studies by Summer 2026.
  • Practical engineering experience gained within a manufacturing or production environment.

This may include industrial placements, internships, or employment in an engineering role.

  • An understanding of modern maintenance strategies and techniques used to improve asset reliability and equipment performance.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods and the ability to apply analytical thinking to technical challenges.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to work with colleagues across different functions.
  • A proactive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute effectively as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement approaches.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • An understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation systems, or industrial control technology.
  • Awareness of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other maintenance planning software.
