Sherborne Schools Group is seeking an organised, proactive and professional HR Administrator to join our HR team based at Sherborne Girls. Supporting Sherborne Girls, Hanford School and the Oxley Sports Centre, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient and responsive HR service across the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with HR administration experience who enjoys managing a varied workload and providing high-quality support in a busy and rewarding environment.

As HR Administrator, you will support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll administration and maintaining accurate employee records. Working closely with the Deputy Director of HR, you will help ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements and organisational policies, while providing a professional and confidential service to staff and managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR Department, acting as a first point of contact for HR enquiries and managing the HR inbox.
  • You will coordinate recruitment activity, complete pre-employment and safer recruitment checks, maintain personnel files and HR systems, prepare contracts and correspondence, and process payroll-related changes including new starters, contractual amendments and leavers.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance records, monitoring training requirements, conducting right-to-work checks, and ensuring all employee information is accurate, secure and up to date.
  • The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while supporting a range of HR projects and initiatives across the Schools Group.
