Sherborne Schools Group is seeking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join Sherborne Preparatory School. Working under the direction of class teachers and the Head of Learning Support, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting effective learning by supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with literacy and numeracy development
  • Supporting individual pupils and small groups
  • Preparing classroom resources
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment

The role also involves supporting pupils’ wellbeing through supervision during break times, educational visits and extracurricular activities, as well as encouraging independence, collaboration and good behaviour. While primarily based at Sherborne Preparatory School, the postholder will be expected to contribute to initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group and may occasionally be required to work at other sites to meet operational needs.
