Learning Resources Assistant — Library & Research Support in Sherborne

Working closely with the Librarian, Archivist & Learning Resources Manager, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Library, including maintaining and developing stock, managing lending services, supporting the library catalogue and creating an inviting, well-organised learning environment. You will also assist teaching staff in sourcing resources, provide guidance to pupils on research and information literacy, and promote a love of reading through engaging displays, initiatives and activities that encourage library use.

The successful candidate will be passionate about books, learning and education, with the confidence to support students in developing effective research skills and discovering reading materials that inspire them. You will contribute ideas for the ongoing development of the Library, help ensure collections support both the curriculum and wider academic interests, and deputise for the Librarian, Archivist & Learning Resources Manager when required. Creativity, initiative and excellent organisational skills will be key to success in this varied and rewarding role.

As part of the Sherborne Schools Group, the postholder will also contribute to initiatives and projects across the wider Group, promoting collaboration and supporting the shared values and ethos of our schools. While the primary place of work will be Sherborne Girls, flexibility is essential as you may be required to provide support at other Group schools or sites when needed.
