Role Overview
Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a trustworthy and committed Custodian. The primary responsibility is supporting the security and welfare of pupils, staff, residents and visitors at the Sherborne Boys site. The custodian team provides a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and benevolent service to all members of the school community, contributing to a safe and respectful environment.
Responsibilities
- Security, including CCTV operation, key and electronic access control
- Visitor reception and event support
- Incident response and parking management
- Post management
- Support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group, including working at other schools or sites as required
Working Hours and On-Call
40 hours per week as per the staff rota. Shift patterns are likely to be 6:30am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-10:30pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break. Times and hours may vary. The rota operates 5 days out of 7, including evening and weekend work. The post-holder will work an on‑call system from 10:30pm to 6:30am on a rota basis, being the first point of call during the night for alarms, incidents and emergencies.
Salary
£27,164.80 per annum plus an annual on‑call allowance of £1,606.42.
