We are currently recruiting for a One Spa Café Server to support in our award winning Spa. Regarded as Europe’s most advanced city spa One Spa, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, is a natural balance of energy, water and heat in a beautiful, light-filled space. The philosophy at One Spa is all-encompassing; down to the smallest details the Spa is designed to comfort, pamper and relax.

The Spa Café Server is responsible for opening and closing of the shift, cash handling, order taking, serving and preparation of drinks/coffees and food items and to keep the Café neat and tidy at all times. The Spa Café is open 7 days a week. The opening hours of the Café are 08:30 to 16:30.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service by discovering all of our guests needs and acting on these needs promptly, effectively and with confidence.
  • Ensure that guest expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with all departments to ensure seamless transfer of information takes place.
  • Be fully conversant with all restaurant/hotel policies and procedures.
  • When fully competent, take ownership of the Spa Café and work with the Manager to make improvements.

We are looking for a confident individual who is capable of working on their own initiative as well as part of a team and has a strong desire to improve on their skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Food & Beverage Service Experience required (Café/Barista experienced preferred).
  • Previous experience in a client facing role within a luxury five star environment is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
  • Impeccable personal presentation.
  • Ability to handle stress and cope with the pressures of the job as and when they occur.
  • Ability to deal with and adapt to unexpected situations: complaints, change.
  • Ability to motivate yourself at quieter times.
