Position Summary
The Kitchen Steward supports the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across wash-up, pot-wash and back-of-house areas. The role works closely with the Executive Chef and Stewarding Supervisor to ensure a safe, clean and organised working environment.
What You’ll Do
- Clean crockery, silverware and copperware to the required standard.
- Use cleaning chemicals, materials and equipment in accordance with instructions.
- Maintain optimum levels of hygiene and cleanliness throughout kitchen areas.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in back-of-house areas, including corridors, skip and bin rooms.
- Support the efficient running of wash-up and pot-wash operations.
- Assist the Executive Chef and Stewarding Supervisor with reasonable operational duties.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good understanding of the English language.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to shifts and working hours.
- Previous kitchen porter experience is advantageous.
- Ability to resolve minor challenges using initiative.
- Professional and positive approach when interacting with colleagues and guests.
