The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane is one of London's most prestigious Art Deco hotels, perfectly situated in the heart of Mayfair. Renowned for its rich heritage, exceptional service and elegant surroundings, the hotel welcomes guests from around the world, delivering memorable experiences across its luxurious accommodation, restaurants, bars, meetings and events spaces.
As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for the complete sales and event management journey, from initial enquiry through to successful event delivery. You will proactively generate new business opportunities, build long‑term client relationships, and maximise revenue across the hotel's meetings, events and group business segments.
You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring every event is expertly planned, coordinated and executed to the highest standards whilst delivering exceptional customer service and commercial results.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Event Management, Sales, Conference & Banqueting Sales, or a similar hospitality role.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong experience managing events from enquiry, proposal and contract negotiation through to event execution and post-event follow‑up.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies and event organisers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
- Commercially focused with strong negotiation and upselling abilities.
- Proficiency in event management and sales systems, with attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with operational teams.
- Flexibility to support events, including evenings and weekends when business demands require.
Your Role And Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle for meetings, events and group bookings from enquiry to conversion and event completion.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue goals.
- Conduct site inspections and client meetings, showcasing the hotel's facilities and services.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and secure event business in line with hotel objectives.
- Coordinate all event details with clients and internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
- Maximise revenue through strategic upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with repeat clients, corporate accounts and event agencies.
- Work closely with Operations, Food & Beverage, Front Office and Revenue teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure all events are delivered in accordance with Marriott brand standards and guest expectations.
