Shepley Spring are the UK’s leading bottled water manufacturer with over 20 years’ experience in production and are proud to remain a family run business.

The company operates in three manufacturing facilities in Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Costco, Booker Tesco and Iceland through a combination of both own brand and private label – producing the brands Ice Valley® and White Rock® exclusively.

Specification:
The Injection Moulding Operative is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of injection moulding machines and associated equipment to produce high-quality plastic components. Working closely with Injection Technicians and the wider production team, the role focuses on machine operation, quality inspection, material handling, housekeeping, and maintaining production standards while adhering to all health, safety, and quality requirements.

  • Operate injection moulding machines in accordance with standard operating procedures and production schedules.
  • Carry out routine quality inspections of moulded products to ensure they meet specification and customer requirements.
  • Remove, inspect, count, pack, and label finished products accurately.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities, quality concerns, or equipment issues to the Injection Technician or Supervisor.
  • Ensure raw materials, packaging, and consumables are available and correctly used throughout production runs.
  • Support Injection Technicians during machine start-ups, changeovers, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Complete production, quality, and downtime records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular cleaning of machines, tooling areas, and surrounding workstations to maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards.
  • Contribute to achieving production targets while minimising waste and downtime.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
  • Follow all health, safety, environmental, and food hygiene procedures and policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Injection and Production departments to support operational requirements.
  • Participate in training and development activities to improve skills and knowledge of injection moulding processes.
  • Promote a positive team culture by demonstrating a proactive attitude, reliability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within an injection moulding, manufacturing, or production environment is preferred; however, candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will also be considered.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify defects and maintain product quality.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, operating procedures, and quality standards accurately.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic IT and record-keeping skills, with the ability to complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks and work in a physically active production environment.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet production targets.
  • Flexible approach to working across multiple sites and supporting changing production demands where required.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to learn new skills and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Basic understanding of injection moulding processes and machine operation would be advantageous.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 ON 4 OFF ROTATION (DAYS)
