Shepley Spring are the UK’s leading bottled water manufacturer with over 20 years’ experience in production and are proud to remain a family run business to this day. The company operates in three manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Costco, Booker Tesco and Iceland through both own brand and private label and produces the brands Ice Valley® and White Rock® exclusively.

We are looking for a highly organised, ambitious, and proactive People Coordinator to join our growing People team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within HR, recruitment, and People operations whilst working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will play a key part in supporting the full employee lifecycle, managing recruitment and onboarding activity, maintaining the Sage HR system, and ensuring excellent organisation and administration across the People function.

We are looking for someone with previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, or operational environment who understands the pace, structure, and demands of a busy production business. The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused, confident communicating with operational teams, and motivated to grow and progress within a developing business.

Competencies and Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Resourcing
    • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity across operational and support functions.
    • Create and manage job advertisements across recruitment platforms and social media channels.
    • Screen applications and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
    • Build candidate pipelines for production, warehouse, engineering, and support function vacancies.
    • Support proactive recruitment initiatives to attract high-quality candidates into the business.
    • Liaise with recruitment agencies where required and monitor recruitment activity and performance.
    • Maintain recruitment trackers and ensure all recruitment administration is completed accurately and efficiently.
    • Deliver a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
    • Manage the onboarding process for all new starters across the business.
    • Prepare contracts, offer letters, onboarding packs, and new starter documentation.
    • Coordinate inductions and ensure all onboarding activities are completed prior to employee start dates.
    • Ensure all right-to-work checks, references, and compliance documentation are completed accurately.
    • Work closely with operational managers to ensure new starters are effectively integrated into the business.
    • Support employee retention through positive onboarding experiences and strong organisation.
  • Sage HR System Management
    • Take ownership of the Sage HR system and maintain accurate employee records and data.
    • Ensure employee information, absence records, training records, and documentation are regularly updated and maintained.
    • Support system improvements, reporting, and administration within Sage HR.
    • Assist managers and employees with system queries and support.
    • Ensure all People data is managed accurately and in line with GDPR requirements.
  • HR Administration & Employee Support
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR systems, and personnel files.
    • Prepare HR documentation including contracts, amendments, letters, and employment-related correspondence.
    • Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day People-related enquiries from employees and managers.
    • Support administration relating to absence management, investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and probationary processes.
    • Support payroll administration through accurate data management and reporting.
  • Training & Development Coordination
    • Coordinate training records, training schedules, and employee development activity.
    • Support onboarding, induction, and compliance training administration.
    • Assist with tracking training completion and employee development requirements.
    • Ensure all HR and recruitment administration is completed accurately and within deadlines.
    • Continuously look for opportunities to improve organisation, systems, and administrative processes.
    • Support wider People projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain a highly organised and professional approach within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience within HR, recruitment, administration, or People coordination roles.
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or operational environment is essential.
  • Experience using HR systems, ideally Sage HR.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to build relationships across operational teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to develop within a growing business.
  • Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining high standards of organisation and professionalism.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
  • Positive attitude with a hands-on and adaptable approach.
