The company operates in three manufacturing facilities in Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Lidl, Booker Tesco and Sainsbury through private label and produces the brands Ice Valley® and White Rock® exclusively.
Summary
The Industrial Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards across the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for ensuring all production areas, equipment, and facilities are cleaned and sanitised in line with company procedures, food safety standards, and health & safety regulations. The role supports the safe production of high-quality products by preventing contamination, maintaining a clean working environment, and contributing to audit readiness and continuous improvement in hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Hygiene Operations
- Carry out daily and periodic cleaning of production lines, machinery, floors, walls, and associated equipment.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks during shutdowns, changeovers, or planned hygiene schedules.
- Use approved cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH and site procedures.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the required standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Food Safety & Quality
- Follow hygiene, food safety, and contamination control procedures at all times.
- Report any hygiene, cleanliness, or equipment issues that could impact food safety.
- Support compliance with BRC, HACCP, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate cleaning records and documentation as required.
- Health & Safety
- Work safely at all times, following site health & safety policies and safe systems of work.
- Correctly wear and maintain PPE provided for the role.
- Identify and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe practices.
- Follow manual handling, working at height, and chemical safety procedures.
- Equipment & Materials
- Safely operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, foaming units, and vacuum systems.
- Ensure cleaning tools and equipment are cleaned, stored, and maintained correctly after use.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning chemicals and consumables and report shortages.
- Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with production, technical, and maintenance teams to support operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding completed tasks or issues identified.
- Support audit visits and inspections as required.
Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or food production cleaning role (preferred). Understanding of hygiene standards within a food or beverage environment. Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning chemicals (training provided if required). Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and able to carry out manual cleaning tasks. Flexible approach to working hours, including nights or weekends if required. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
