We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support the business during a particularly busy period. This is a hands-on, generalist role with a strong focus on employee relations, offering the opportunity to work closely with managers across the Group and make a real impact in a fast-paced, operational environment.
As HR Advisor, you will act as a key point of contact for managers, providing practical and consistent HR advice across a range of people matters. You will take ownership of employee relations casework and support wider HR activity, including recruitment and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Providing proactive HR advice to managers on employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Managing HR casework from investigation through to resolution
- Preparing HR documentation including outcome letters, contracts, and reports
- Supporting industrial relations activity, including working with trade union representatives and consultation processes
- Liaising with Occupational Health and supporting the implementation of reasonable adjustments and fair passports
- Supporting HR data gathering and reporting
- Representing HR in site or project meetings where required
- Assisting with the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Supporting recruitment activity, particularly for white-collar roles
- Assisting with onboarding and induction processes
- Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a generalist HR role with exposure to employee relations casework
- Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities and casework effectively
- Experience working in operational environments, ideally with both unionised and non-unionised workforces
