Location: Bridgend, South Wales

Position: Permanent Part-Time Hospital Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 FTE

Hours: 3 fixed days 8am-5pm (no OOH) – Wednesday and Thursday + either Monday or Friday

Practice: Independent Small Animal RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Clinic

Shepherds the Vets is seeking an experienced vet to manage inpatients, outpatient diagnostic imaging, support strong clinical standards and coach graduate vets within our friendly independent team.

The Role

You will assess new admits, plan and review treatment, communicate clearly with colleagues and owners, and ensure excellent continuity of care for hospitalised patients. You will also oversee outpatient diagnostic procedures. This role suits a confident medic who enjoys clinical leadership, high standards and developing others.

Package & Perks

  • Salary £50,000-£60,000 FTE, reviewed annually and will be pro-rated for part-time hours.
  • £1500 and 5 days CPD FTE (£2000 and 7 days for APs)
  • RCVS, VDS, and membership fees covered.
  • 5 weeks' holidays.
  • 50% staff discount.

  • Experienced medic confident with inpatients, ECC, decision making & diagnostics
  • Motivated to maintain high standards and promote best practice.
  • Enjoys coaching, training and working collaboratively with the wider hospital team.
  • VetGDP Adviser experience
  • Medicine, ECC, diagnostic imaging or cardiology postgraduate qualifications / AP status
