About Us: We are a small, independent bookkeeping and finance support team working remotely with UK-based small businesses. We each manage our workload while supporting one another as needed.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who can begin contributing quickly. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping tasks across multiple client accounts, working primarily in Xero.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Reconciling accounts each month and noting anything that needs follow-up or clarification
  • Communicating with clients to request information or clarify queries
About You
  • Experienced in practical bookkeeping, ideally in a small business or practice setting
  • Confident in Xero — this is essential
  • Proactive in identifying issues early and asking clear, timely questions
  • Organised and able to manage own workload across multiple clients
  • Comfortable working independently as part of a remote team
Qualifications / Experience
  • AAT Level 4 is desirable or QBE with strong real-world experience
  • Familiarity with HMRC reporting deadlines and VAT rules
  • Good written communication and client interaction skills

Salary & Progression: This role starts at £12.50 per hour during onboarding. There is a structured review at 3 months, with progression opportunities as confidence, independence and scope of work increase. Typical progression pathway: £14–£16 per hour over time. There is also a pathway to permanent employment if mutually suitable. Employee benefits include health insurance and a day off for your birthday.
