Build Relationships – Solve Problems – Drive Growth. Are you a driven sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, uncovering opportunities, and delivering solutions rather than simply selling products? This is not a transactional sales role. Success comes from understanding customer challenges and providing the right solution. Our client seeks an ambitious and proactive Sales Account Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is commercially minded, enjoys speaking with customers, thrives on winning new business and takes pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience. Not looking for a ‘hard sell’ salesperson, but for someone who is competitive, motivated by success and determined to achieve results whilst always acting in the best interests of the customer, the team and the business.

In return, we offer a long-term career opportunity with a stable and successful business that values commitment, development and personal growth.

The Role

The Sales Account Manager role is responsible for managing and developing existing customer accounts, identifying and securing new business opportunities and acting as a trusted partner to our customers. Collaborating closely with customers and internal departments you will understand customer requirements, provide commercially viable solutions, prepare quotations, and ensure projects are delivered successfully from enquiry through to completion. The telephone remains one of our most valuable sales tools so you must be comfortable proactively engaging with customers, building relationships, following up opportunities and opening new conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and secure new business opportunities
  • Develop and grow existing customer accounts
  • Build strong, lasting customer relationships based on trust and service excellence
  • Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Prepare quotations and negotiate effectively whilst maintaining company profitability
  • Proactively follow up quotations and sales opportunities
  • Track and report sales activity, opportunities and customer feedback
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure customer expectations are met

What we are Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience within a consultative or solution-based sales environment.
  • A proven track record of building and developing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in using the telephone as a primary sales and relationship-building tool.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Desirable

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering or technical sales.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical specifications.

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate in this Sales Account Manager role will be:

  • Driven, ambitious and motivated by success.

  • Professional, personable and relationship focused.
  • Curious and eager to learn new skills and technical information.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers at all levels
  • Resilient when faced with challenges and setbacks.
  • Committed to building a long-term career within a business that will invest in their development.
