An established, family-run HVAC business with over 40 years of experience is seeking a highly skilled Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer to lead a small installation team. This role involves working on a variety of high-quality HVAC systems, including DAIKIN, ALTHERMA, and VRV/VRF splits. It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of installations, mentor technicians, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate air conditioning system installations, ensuring compliance with safety and project specifications.
- Survey sites, assess risks, and prepare detailed installation plans.
- Order materials, arrange deliveries, and oversee subcontractors, crane lifts, and scaffolding when required.
- Interpret HVAC schematics, design plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor installation technicians to develop team skills.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and calibration to guarantee optimal performance.
- Maintain comprehensive records, technical reports, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, property maintenance teams, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
- City & Guilds qualifications and F-GAS certification essential.
- Proven experience leading installation teams in HVAC or related mechanical fields.
- Strong mechanical skills, including brazing, pipe bending, and refrigeration systems knowledge.
- Experience interpreting schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design principles.
- Service technician experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel to sites across the UK, including overnight stays if required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
