We have a unique opportunity for an aspiring Safety professional to help us ‘Brew a Safe Culture’ across our Brewery and Support Office.

The role of a Brewery and Tenanted Safety Advisor is a great opportunity for someone passionate about two main areas of safety: Health & Safety and Fire Safety. You will share your enthusiasm and drive to influence our teams while progressing your career. As part of a small (3 members including you) but well-formed Safety Team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders in our Property, Engineering, Production, and Tenanted teams, communicating and ensuring compliance with our safety policies and procedures, along with arranging safety-related training. You will assist the People Leaders in each function and our Tenanted Pubs with investigations following accidents or incidents, advise on corrective actions post-audits, and collectively influence everyone to maintain a safe workplace for all.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour unpaid lunch

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the wider safety team and collaborate with all Brewery and Support Office stakeholders to promote a best-practice safety culture
  • Advise People Leaders to prioritize, improve, and complete all corrective actions following observations, audits, and inspections
  • Assist the Safety Team with the creation and execution of safety protocols including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs), and investigation reporting
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure statutory compliance across the site
  • Support development and implementation of new safety policies and systems
  • Foster collaborative interactions to improve safety systems
  • Create and maintain safety files confidentially
  • Monitor, escalate, and influence safety compliance
  • Record all statutory compliance items accurately
  • Advise on processing and recording accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Broaden knowledge of relevant legislation affecting our business
  • Other duties as needed by the Safety Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Preferred Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (aspirations to become qualified are preferred)
  • Experience of safety within manufacturing industry
  • Observant, proactive in hazard identification and escalation
  • Passionate about safety culture and ownership of initiatives
  • Professional, conscientious, and committed to safety
  • Effective communicator, friendly and approachable
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and data analysis
  • Organized, able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
