About the role

We are a Leeds-based civil and structural engineering consultancy looking for a BIM / CAD Technician to become our lead CAD and BIM specialist. You'll be the person we rely on for drawing and modelling standards, so this is a role for someone who works independently and takes ownership.

  • Set up, maintain and check our drawing and modelling standards, including templates, layers, title blocks and quality control
  • Act as the company's go-to specialist for CAD and BIM

What we're looking for (essential)

  • Practical AutoCAD expertise: layers, scales, viewports, xrefs and coordination
  • Moderate practical Revit experience on structural engineering work, such as steelwork, RC detailing and GA drawings
  • Professional experience producing engineering and construction drawings, and interpreting sketches and calculations
  • A sound understanding of engineering principles, construction methods and materials
  • Self-reliance, initiative and good organisation, with strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience of civil engineering drawings, such as drainage, utilities, earthworks and external works
  • Experience of, or interest in, Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Experience creating Revit families, templates and libraries
  • Understanding of BIM coordination and ISO 19650
  • A background in a civil and/or structural consultancy or similar design environment
