Established in 2004, we have built a strong reputation for providing commercially focused property advice to landlords, investors, occupiers and businesses across the Midlands and beyond.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Commercial Surveyor to join our Professional Services department.
This position is specifically designed for a recent graduate looking to begin their career in commercial property surveying, gain practical industry experience and work towards achieving MRICS status through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
The Role
Working closely with our experienced surveyors, you will primarily assist in the delivery of professional surveying instructions, while developing the technical knowledge and practical experience required to become a Chartered Surveyor.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with commercial rent reviews and lease renewals, including researching comparable evidence and preparing reports.
- Supporting commercial property valuations and the preparation of valuation reports.
- Assisting with landlord and tenant matters, lease advisory instructions and negotiations.
- Attending property inspections and undertaking measurements and site visits.
- Researching commercial property markets, rental values and investment transactions.
- Reviewing lease documentation and assisting with the interpretation of lease terms.
- Preparing professional reports, correspondence and client recommendations.
- Liaising with landlords, tenants, solicitors and other property professionals.
- Supporting senior surveyors with ongoing professional instructions and client matters.
- Maintaining accurate records and assisting with the progression of instructions.
Although your principal focus will be Professional Services, you will also gain exposure to our Commercial Agency and Property Management departments, providing valuable experience across different areas of commercial surveying.
About You
We are looking for an ambitious, motivated graduate who is eager to learn and committed to developing a long-term career in commercial property.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Real Estate, Property Management or a related property discipline, ideally RICS-accredited.
- A clear ambition to become a Chartered Surveyor and achieve MRICS qualification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and numerical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to use their own initiative.
- A professional and personable approach when dealing with clients.
- A full UK driving licence.
Previous surveying experience is not required. We are primarily interested in graduates who demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, commercial awareness and a genuine desire to succeed.
