This position focuses on general consumer product compliance in the UK and EU, rather than medical devices, pharmaceuticals or internal quality management systems.
The role supports multiple cross-border clients and a wide range of consumer product categories, such as electrical products, toys, lighting, household goods, machinery and personal protective equipment. It involves hands‑on review of product compliance documents, coordination with manufacturers and laboratories, and follow‑up of multiple products and cases simultaneously.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Compliance Specialist to support UKCA, product safety and related compliance projects in the UK.
You will coordinate with our UK office, China‑based colleagues, clients, external laboratories and relevant UK authorities. The role focuses on project coordination, technical documentation review, stakeholder communication and delivery follow‑up.
This opportunity would suit someone with strong English communication skills, excellent attention to detail and an interest in developing their career in product compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review test reports, Declarations of Conformity, risk assessments, labels, user instructions and technical files.
- Assess whether products meet applicable UK and EU requirements, including GPSR, CE marking and UKCA requirements where applicable.
- Identify missing, inconsistent or non‑compliant information and follow up with manufacturers, suppliers and clients.
- Coordinate product testing and certification with laboratories and certification bodies.
- Support multiple clients, product categories and SKUs simultaneously.
- Communicate compliance requirements clearly to China‑based manufacturers and delivery teams.
- Maintain case records, document trackers, deadlines and compliance status.
- Support regulatory enquiries, product safety issues, withdrawals or recalls where required.
- Contribute to the development of SOPs and scalable compliance workflows.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in general consumer product compliance, product safety, testing, certification or market access.
- Experience working for a compliance consultancy, testing laboratory, certification body, authorised representative, e‑commerce marketplace or cross‑border service provider is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple external clients or managing a large number of products, SKUs or technical documents.
- Familiarity with consumer product categories such as electrical products, toys, lighting, household goods, machinery or PPE.
- Practical experience reviewing test reports, declarations, labels and technical documentation.
- Experience communicating with manufacturers, suppliers, laboratories or regulatory authorities.
- Comfortable with detailed document review, case follow‑up and other hands‑on operational work.
What You Can Expect
- Exposure to UK and European product compliance projects.
- Opportunities to work with international clients, laboratories and professional organisations.
- Practical experience in product safety, market access and compliance project management.
- Career development opportunities in product compliance, client project management and international business coordination.
