Shenton Group is on the lookout for a motivated and talented Generator Maintenance Engineer to join our team!

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be required to provide and deliver a consistently high technical and professional level of service to our customers while acting as an ambassador of the Shenton Group brand. You will need a focus on quality with strong attention to detail and an enthusiastic attitude to achieve the customer’s full requirements.

You’ll travel around the UK in your company provided vehicle carrying out a mixture of scheduled service work and reactive work which may involve overnight stays, so a flexible approach to working patterns is required. This role is a fantastic balance of working independently with the backup of a strong support team in the office to enable you to fulfil your role. You will be part of our wider technical support team that supports both internal colleagues and external customers with a can-do approach.

You need to have a keen attitude and take a positive proactive approach to engaging with your role and your colleagues. You need to be able to collaborate and take responsibility for tasks including seeking opportunities to improve.

You should have a solid mechanical background of working with generators, and relevant qualifications to support this. Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems is essential, as is a practical knowledge of high-level software-based control systems such as Comap/Deep Sea etc. Decent IT skills with Outlook, Excel, & Word, including practical experience of using laptop based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite, is also essential.

We offer a competitive salary of £34,000 to £43,000 dependent on experience and giving you opportunity to grow. Benefits include, but are definitely not limited to, an enhanced pension, overtime at 150%, being part of a company bonus scheme and an overnight allowance. We’ll provide you with a company VW Transporter (or similar), uniform, a laptop and company card to enable you with your role. You’ll also receive 25 days leave which grows with length of service, a cashplan health benefit and many other perks and allowances.
