Salary: Grade 5 £27,693 - £31,021 p.a pro rata, £24,031 - £26,920 p.a actual

37 hrs per week, Term Time, plus training days (39 weeks per year)

Monday - Thursday 8.15am - 4.15pm, Friday 8.15am-3.45pm

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our Support for Learning Team, to work with individuals, pairs and small groups of students with SEND to help them significantly improve their Mathematics and Numeracy skills.

We welcome applications from educational professionals with a love of Maths and for helping young people develop those skills they need to use across their school subjects and in future life.

In return you will be offered the support and training to enable you to reach your maximum potential.

You will work with students who have a range of difficulties in learning Maths skills, including Dyscalculia and other difficulties with basic maths skills such as number and measure.

In the role you will be required:

  • to assess students’ needs and plan for active interventions
  • to deliver and evaluate student progress data in Maths and identify further support required
  • to liaise with subject teachers, parents and external agencies
  • Deliver after school maths intervention sessions

Ideal candidate:

  • have previous experience working with young people
  • be able to establish meaningful positive relationships quickly
  • have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • be able to work independently
  • have strong subject knowledge and a breadth of ideas to develop Maths skills and understanding for the students at school
