Shell is building a focused, competitive, and adaptive Power Business. The Shell Renewable Asset Management International (SRAMI) team manages operations and technical support for a 2+ GW global portfolio of onshore solar, wind, battery storage, and gas‑fired generation assets. This role reports to the Global Engineering Manager within the central multidisciplinary engineering team and focuses on technical expertise in operation, maintenance, and reliability of gas turbines and high‑speed rotating equipment across the gas‑fired generation (GFG) portfolio, while also supporting onshore wind turbine assets.

Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Perform site walkthroughs with HSSE leadership and mentor personnel.
    • Participate in safety meetings and take personal responsibility for Life Saving Rules.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant rules, regulations, and standards to manage field safety and asset integrity.
    • Establish and assure process safety controls across the fleet of gas‑fired generating assets.
  • Technical
    • Develop and refine long‑term maintenance strategies for rotating equipment on gas‑fired generating assets.
    • Provide subject matter expert support to global and regional site operations and maintenance teams on gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and other balance‑of‑plant rotating equipment.
    • Support root cause analysis and work with OEMs to implement corrective and preventative action plans.
    • Plan and support maintenance turnarounds with site O&M providers and OEMs to meet schedule, budget, quality, and HSSE performance goals.
    • Lead the MTO Standard application across the portfolio, creating cost‑effective action plans for availability and reliability.
    • Identify and resolve equipment reliability problems that impact overall asset performance.
    • Provide technical support to ensure operational assets comply with local regulatory requirements and monitor leading indicators.
    • Lead the Management of Change process and design changes according to Shell Group practices.
    • Offer day‑to‑day technical support and guidance to site operations teams during maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Integrate across engineering disciplines, functional teams, and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Qualifications
    • Legal authorization to work full‑time in the US.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (preferred).
    • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in operation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
    • Minimum 5 years of contractor management experience in an operational environment; contract holder experience preferred.
    • Experience in O&M of diverse OEM gas turbine fleets and associated plant auxiliary systems.
    • Project management and delivery skills.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex topics.
    • Can‑do attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges.
    • Ability to work within a global multi‑disciplinary team.

    • Skilled in HSSE management, implementation, and monitoring.

    • Knowledge in root cause analysis and causal investigation techniques.
    • Develop performance standards for safety critical elements on rotating equipment.
    • Knowledge of commissioning, startup, and auxiliary systems for gas/steam turbines.
    • Skilled in equipment control, condition monitoring, shutdown, and safeguarding specifications.
    • Knowledge in selecting and specifying mechanical equipment, including QA/QC processes.
    • Ensure compliance with performance standards and overall compliance.
    • Maintain discipline competencies for O&M providers.
    • Support technical due diligence and lessons learned during acquisition or design/construction of new assets.
    • Support onboarding and integration of future gas‑fired generation assets.
  • Contract Management
    • Lead high‑value contract negotiations with service providers and OEMs.
    • Act as contract holder for specific contracts.
    • Provide technical SME input to contracting strategies.

What We Offer

Salary range: $124,000 – $186,000 per year, based on experience, education, and skill level. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, and parental leave (16 weeks for birthing parents, 8 weeks for non‑birthing parents).
