What is the role?
As a Sr. Experience Designer, you will operate confidently across the full design lifecycle. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the Trading & Supply business to shape and deliver effective, user-centred solutions for internal systems and business-critical tools.
What we need from you
You’ll lead the experience design process across projects from discovery through to delivery, working independently or in collaboration with others. You’ll engage with users and stakeholders to uncover needs, validate assumptions and shape direction. You’ll translate insights into clear, testable concepts and work closely with developers to ensure high-quality delivery of your designs.
What you will bring
- Proven years of experience across UX, UI or product design, with exposure to the full design lifecycle across operational or enterprise environments.
- Confident working across discovery, definition and delivery – from research and ideation through to execution and developer handoff, even in unfamiliar or high-complexity domains.
- Able to produce journey maps, UX flows, wireframes and both low- and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate intent and align teams around design direction.
- Strong proficiency in Figma and FigJam, including working with design systems and interactive prototyping in collaborative workflows.
- Bring professionalism and composure to complex projects, and be able to navigate demanding environments, communicate clearly and build credibility with colleagues across domains.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem-solving, strong design craft and impact – ideally in contexts like data-rich tools, workflow design or operational systems.
- Solid understanding of usability and accessibility standards (such as WCAG and ISO 9241), and how to apply them to complex, high-density interfaces.
- Proactive and accountable, you take ownership of your work, manage ambiguity and push things forward without needing close direction.
- Comfortable facilitating workshops and co-design sessions to help trading users, business analysts and stakeholders clarify complex problems in high-pressure and time-sensitive contexts.
- Experienced in planning and conducting research and usability testing, including with specialist users like traders, risk analysts or operations teams.
- Pragmatic and delivery-aware, able to balance user needs with business goals, tech and regulatory constraints, and shifting priorities.
- Driven by delivering meaningful outcomes, you focus on creating value for both users and the organisation, and use design to bridge gaps in intricate, fragmented systems.
- Able to collaborate confidently with trading users, stakeholders, business analysts and developers to shape and iterate solutions in environments where accuracy, speed and alignment are critical.
- Strong analytical thinking skills – able to understand and improve service-level or process-level flows in multi-system or cross-team environments.
- Willing to support more junior team members through peer mentoring, feedback and collaborative working.
- Contribute to improving team practices and ways of working, helping to evolve how we design and deliver in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.
- Build a solid understanding of the trading domain; able to design with awareness of key processes, data flows and the operational realities users face.
