As part of this journey, we are seeking a skilled and seasoned Solution Architect to enhance automation and fully harness data and innovation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Play a pivotal role in Shell’s Trading & Supply global transformation, specifically the implementation of our Energy Trade & Risk Management (ETRM) solution on Azure.
- Create a scalable, secure, and strategic landscape that enables the transformation of Shell’s Trading capabilities.
- Help shape a future ready, cloud native architecture built with flexibility, resilience, and data centricity at its core.
- Influence architectural decisions from the ground up and define how a modern ETRM landscape should operate at global scale.
- Drive a paradigm shift in how Shell’s Trading business integrates processes, data, and systems across the value chain.
- Serve as the primary contact for architectural aspects of IT projects.
- Integrate business process, data, application, technical, and information security dimensions into cohesive IT solutions.
- Ensure solution architectures are documented using standard templates and tooling complying with Shell’s architectural standards.
- Guide detailed designers and business analysts during the design phase.
- Review and formally approve detailed solution designs.
- Support Lead Architect and participate in Architecture Review Board sessions as required.
- Actively contribute to the documentation, enhancement, and maintenance of Reference Models in BizzDesign or any other standard tooling.
- Monitor emerging IT technologies and apply this insight to design future-ready solutions for Shell.
- Stay informed of developments in Shell’s IT standards and services, ensuring they are incorporated into solution designs.
- Champion architectural excellence within the organisation and engage with stakeholders to address architectural concerns and drive strategic improvements.
What you bring:
- Industry Knowledge: Long-established background in Trading IT and extensive hands-on expertise with OpenLink Endur.
- Technical Architecture & Design: Extensive experience in delivering both software and architecture delivery.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, supported by significant experience within trading environments.
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Diagnose problems and implement innovative solutions fitting into the wider Shell Trading picture.
- Technical Skills and Mastery: Expert in programming languages (Node.js, .Net, .Net Core, Python etc) and Cloud Native Platform Development (Azure/AWS).
- Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM): Hands-on experience in architecting applications into the Azure platform.
- Data Architecture, Data Management & Diverse Data Types: Solid experience in Data Architecture, including developing logical data models.
- Azure Services & Integration: Significant experience with Azure Functions, Web Apps, distributed/event-driven architecture.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Substantial experience in CI/CD delivery, working with tools such as Git, GitHub, VSTS/Azure DevOps.
- Agile & Engineering Standards: Practical agile experience in both start-up and enterprise environments.
- Documentation & Coordination: Address Business Process, Data, Application, Technical, and Information Security aspects of IT Solutions.
