What you'll be doing
This is a great opportunity to join the Commercial Team, accountable for the management and development of basket product risk for Shell Energy UK. Reporting into the Forecasting and Structuring Manager, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure. The role supports our business' growth ambition in the B2B space measured against the metrics set out in our 10-year strategic plan. You will get the opportunity to apply your expertise in product design and deliver risk management improvements that will have tangible benefits for our business customers.

More specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain Shell Energy UK basket product risk strategy & procedures aligned with Market Risk, Regulation and Legal guidelines
  • Produce portfolio insight on product performance and the out turning risks to provide targeted recommendations.
  • Attend Industrial & Commercial (I&C) customer meetings, and to ensure the best available information and solutions are considered to inform the product recommendation
  • Provide product risk insights to inform risk policy and wider strategy, draw on expertise and professional knowledge to propose innovative solutions / improvements to status quo
  • Articulate basket product mechanics and risks to wider teams to ensure all impacts are considered and understood.
  • Own contractual risk clauses and support deal negotiations for complex basket bespoke deals.
  • Lead on structuring basket energy product offers, working with sales, supply, market risk, legal and finance to position our offer effectively, presenting recommendations to senior management.

What you bring

We are keen to hear from individuals with experience in basket product management/development. You ideally have energy industry experience working with large corporate flex baskets.

We also hope you possess the following skills:

  • Good understanding of basket energy product structures and risk mitigation techniques, both contractual and analytical
  • Advanced level IT skills, familiar with risk modelling techniques and best practice with a high attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Degree level education and/or relevant professional qualification
  • Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility, extremely organised and a skilled planner who is happy to work under your own initiative and with others
