The opportunity: The Production team within Content Engine Studios brings our creative vision to life through exceptional project management, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving. We deliver a diverse portfolio of work for Shell, including documentary films, scripted content, animation, live events, and short-form social content. Reporting to the Head of Production, the Junior Producer will manage a portfolio of projects with support and oversight from the Senior Project Manager and Executive Producer. This is a step-up from a supporting role, offering the opportunity to manage projects autonomously and develop production leadership skills while working closely with creative teams and stakeholders.

The Junior Producer is responsible for the successful delivery of projects across financial, logistical, HSSE, legal, brand compliance, and client communication requirements. Responsibilities will vary depending on project scope and complexity. Once project budgets are approved, the Junior Producer will lead resource planning, ensuring a clear understanding of the brief, alignment with creative teams, and effective communication of deliverables to stakeholders. For larger or more complex productions, the Junior Producer will support the recruitment and management of freelance talent, including researchers, assistant producers, editors, animators, composers, and other specialist roles. They will oversee day-to-day production management while maintaining strong communication with the Creative team and Executive Producer to deliver high-quality work and an outstanding client experience. Initially focused on projects ranging from £10k–£70k, the role offers a clear development path towards managing larger productions valued at £150k+.

About You: You have experience in branded content production and project management, gained in a role such as Senior Coordinator, Production Coordinator, or Junior Production Manager. You are confident interpreting client briefs and translating them into well-managed, successful productions. You bring strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to build trusted relationships. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing deadlines, budgets, and priorities. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to clear, effective communication. A strong understanding of production workflows across development, pre-production, production, and post-production. Curiosity about emerging trends in content creation, including AI tools, social media, branded content, advertising, film, and television. Knowledge of the creative talent landscape and an ability to identify and engage high-quality freelance collaborators. A commitment to understanding Shell’s business, brand values, guidelines, HSSE requirements, and legal obligations to ensure every production delivers value and meets compliance standards. You are also a collaborative team player who contributes beyond project delivery by participating in brainstorms, editorial discussions, team meetings, creative initiatives, and company events. You actively champion the team’s capabilities and are confident promoting our work, achievements, and future opportunities to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically overseeing at least four productions at various stages of development, pre-production, production, and post-production. Maintain project schedules, timelines, status reports, and delivery plans. Coordinate internal meetings, production calls, and project communications.
  • Production Delivery: Plan and oversee shoots, recordings, and content productions, including logistics, scheduling, call sheets, bookings, and supplier management. Liaise with freelancers, vendors, and production partners to ensure successful project delivery. Delegate and oversee tasks assigned to Production Assistants and Runners. Manage assets and final deliverables, ensuring all content meets client, brand, and platform requirements.
