Customer Service Assistant- Night cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing excellent service and ensuring a smooth checkout process. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a positive attitude to enhance the shopping experience. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous manner
• Operate cash registers accurately, handling cash, card payments, and refunds efficiently
• Provide information about products, promotions, and store policies to customers
• Upsell items where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
• Maintain organised merchandising displays and ensure the sales floor remains tidy
• Manage customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clarity
• Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks as needed
• Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and escalate when necessary
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within the store environment

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
• Friendly phone etiquette for customer enquiries over the phone
• Experience in merchandising or retail is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customers effectively
• Organised, reliable, and able to work well within a team environment
