We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team within the hospitality and food service industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily activities, support staff, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. We are a very seasonal business which means we are fairly quiet from November until mid December and then we close until mid February. There are always things to do when we are closed through January however.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Supervise and motivate team members, including front-of-house staff such as servers and baristas, as well as kitchen personnel.
  • Complete daily cash up's.
  • Handle drink and disposables ordering.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards across all areas of the establishment.
  • Manage staff rota, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to optimise team productivity.
  • Assist with training new staff members and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality settings, with a strong background in hospitality.
  • Supervising experience with demonstrated team management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers.
  • Personal license a bonus as is any wine qualifications.
