What you’ll be doing
- As a Category Development Manager, you will play a key role in turning our rich retail execution datasets into actionable insights for some of the world’s most recognisable brands.
- You’ll analyse complex SKU-level data from multiple global markets, identify opportunities to improve category performance, and help clients influence retailer decisions in highly competitive airport retail environments.
- Build, analyse, and interpret category performance reports across multiple categories and markets, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for growth.
- Use Shelftrak’s proprietary data, client sales data, and market intelligence to create evidence-based recommendations that improve category performance and shopper experience.
- Translate insight into shopper-led selling stories and strategic action plans for brand and retailer partners.
- Work closely with the commercial team to align category insights with joint business plans.
- Present findings to client stakeholders – from category managers to senior commercial leaders – in clear, compelling formats.
- Track category KPIs, ensuring execution is measured against agreed objectives and that insights feed into future planning cycles.
- Develop a deep understanding of travel retail’s unique challenges – including assortment optimisation, planogram compliance, sales performance, and passenger / shopper behaviour across different regions.
What we’re looking for
- We’re looking for someone who loves working with data and wants to see their analysis influence high-value commercial decisions.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in category management, insights, or retail analytics.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data visualisation) and confidence working with large datasets.
- Experience in preparing client-ready presentations that tell a clear, commercially relevant story.
- Knowledge of FMCG retail (travel retail experience a bonus).
- Understanding of category management principles (space allocation, range optimisation, pricing, promotions, planogram compliance).
- Commercial awareness and the ability to see data in the context of shopper needs and retailer priorities.
- Confidence to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing detail accuracy with timely delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to client audiences.
