Ealing Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead their Kinship Service. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team delivering high-quality social work practice to children and families, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and positive outcomes are achieved.

In this role, you will have full responsibility for team leadership and performance, including recruitment, induction, supervision, quality assurance, and practice development. You will oversee complex kinship casework, chair key meetings, provide expert professional advice, and ensure robust decision-making in line with legislation, local procedures, and best practice.

You will play a key role in driving service improvement, embedding learning from audits, managing performance through data and SMART action plans, and contributing to wider strategic development across Children’s Services. You will also represent the local authority in legal processes where required and ensure effective partnership working internally and externally.

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within statutory children’s services
  • Proven experience managing and supervising social work teams
  • Strong knowledge of kinship care, safeguarding, and legal frameworks
  • Experience chairing complex meetings and managing complaints
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and quality assurance skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, performance, and service development
