Your Role in SWWF and Assessment Teams: As a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker , you’ll hold a manageable caseload of children and families requiring intervention under: Section 17 (Child in Need) Section 47 (Child Protection) Initial Court Applications where necessary Working with families for up to 12 weeks during assessments, your responsibilities will include: Conducting timely and thorough assessments to identify risks and needs, such as Single Assessments or Strategy Meetings. Coordinating Section 47 investigations to ensure children’s safety, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners. Creating robust Child in Need plans to support families in achieving stability and positive outcomes. Preparing high-quality court reports and statements for care proceedings where required. Building trusting relationships with children to understand their wishes, ensuring their voices are at the heart of your work. Using Croydon’s Systemic Practice Model to deliver strengths-based, holistic family interventions. What We’re Looking For: Social Work England Registration (essential). 3+ years’ proven experience in Children’s Services teams, ideally within Assessment or Child Protection. Strong skills in decision-making, communication, and time management. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) .
