The London Borough of Greenwich is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Fostering Team. This role is ideal for a practitioner with over 5 years' post-qualified experience who is confident in delivering high-quality services to foster carers and children in care.
About the Borough:
Greenwich is a well-established South East London borough known for its commitment to children’s services, stable leadership, and supportive team structures. The fostering team works collaboratively to ensure that every child placed in foster care receives the support and stability they need to thrive.
Role Highlights:
- £37.00 per hour (umbrella)
- 3-month ongoing contract with potential for extension
- 35 hours per week
- Key role supporting recruitment, assessment, and supervision of foster carers
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake Form F assessments and present at fostering panels
- Provide supervision and support to approved foster carers
- Contribute to placement matching and ongoing care planning
- Liaise with professionals across children’s services to maintain placement stability
- Promote safeguarding, compliance, and the emotional wellbeing of looked-after children
Requirements:
- Registered with Social Work England
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social work
- Direct experience working within fostering or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks
