Social Worker / Senior Social Worker – Safeguarding Service Herefordshire

£41,363 – £50,091 (including £5,000 market supplement)

  • £10,000 Welcome Bonus (paid in two instalments)

Herefordshire County Council is seeking passionate and committed Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join their Safeguarding Service. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and court proceedings
  • Undertake Section 47 investigations and risk assessments
  • Develop and implement child-centred care and protection plans
  • Prepare reports for court, conferences, and statutory reviews
  • Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and child protection conferences
  • Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including health, education, and police
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience within Safeguarding, Child Protection, or Assessment teams
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
  • Ability to manage complex cases and make sound professional decisions
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills
