Lambeth Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Child Assessment Team 2. This is a frontline statutory role focused on safeguarding children, completing high-quality assessments, and delivering effective interventions for children and families.
The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload within a fast-paced assessment service, working closely with multi-agency partners to ensure children receive timely and effective support.
Working Pattern:
- 2 days per week in the office
- Hybrid working arrangement
In this role, you will:
- Manage a complex caseload of children and families
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments
- Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
- Lead Child Protection investigations and safeguarding interventions
- Prepare reports and applications for court proceedings
- Develop and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Maintain accurate and high-quality case recordings
- Attend and contribute to conferences, reviews, panels, and legal meetings
- Promote relationship-based and evidence-informed practice
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Recent experience within an Assessment Team
- Strong safeguarding, court work, and assessment experience
- Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
