Sheldon Phillips are currently working with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker into their specialist Exploitation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated service supporting children and young people at risk of exploitation, contextual safeguarding concerns, missing episodes and complex extra‑familial harm.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work with vulnerable children and adolescents who are at risk of child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation, missing from home episodes and wider contextual safeguarding concerns. The team works closely with partner agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes for young people across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing complex exploitation and contextual safeguarding cases
- Completing assessments, safety planning and direct work with young people
- Working closely with police, education and youth services
- Responding to missing episodes and exploitation concerns
- Undertaking S17 and S47 enquiries where required
- Contributing towards strategy meetings and risk management planning
- Supporting young people affected by criminal or sexual exploitation
- Maintaining accurate recording and risk assessments
