Summary Description
This position involves assisting special education teachers in instructing and supervising students with disabilities to ensure a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, setting up classrooms, supervising and assisting children in various settings, reinforcing lessons, and supporting special projects as assigned. The work is performed under direct supervision following established procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate\’s Degree, or have completed two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), or have a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test, along with at least one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred). Candidates must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree: Equivalent to 4 years plus required experience.
Master’s Degree: Equivalent to 6 years plus required experience.
