The Role
The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the assigned dealerships in the Portadown site, including Toyota, Nissan, AutoSelect and Renault, as well as group functions such as Valet and Sales Administration. This is a strategic role where you will be responsible for driving performance in the area of customer satisfaction, sales, profit and quality, inspiring the teams to deliver the highest standard of service to our customers.
About you
This role is suited to someone who has substantial experience in leading a team in a large organisation within the motor industry. We are looking for someone who has the ability to consistently deliver results as well as motivate teams to reach their full potential.
People Targets & objectives
Reporting to the COO, you will work closely with the sales and aftersales departments to help achieve business objectives including manufacturer and financial targets. With responsibility for the overall performance of the centre, you will drive a continuous improvement culture underpinned by the company values, coaching and inspiring teams to exceed targets while delivering an outstanding level of customer care.
General duties
- Strategically reviews performance across the assigned dealerships and identifies future trends & opportunities.
- Agrees and implements departmental budgets and assigned dealership objectives, regularly monitoring performance against the budget and addressing any adverse trends with the appropriate corrective action.
- Builds and maintains relationships with manufacturers, customers and staff teams by understanding their requirements and exceeding their expectations.
- Monitors the performance of the management team, using key measures and supporting them to manage and coach their respective teams.
- Manages the Portadown site, facilities, equipment, ensuring the highest standard of compliance in respect to the environment, quality and health and safety.
