Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded lawyer to join our Europe Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial lawyer (4+ years PQE) to join a fast-paced, in-house legal team supporting a rapidly scaling global e-commerce business. The role is business facing and transaction focused, with primary responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of commercial contracts including logistics agreements, customs brokerage arrangements, warehousing contracts, procurement agreements, leases, and related operational services, as well as advising on and resolving legal issues arising from these contracts. The role also encompasses trade compliance related projects, ad hoc projects relating to logistics, warehousing and procurement, and assisting with development and implementation of legal procedures and policies.
The successful candidate will work closely with logistics, warehousing, procurement, real estate, and operations teams, gaining broad exposure to the legal infrastructure underpinning the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts particularly across logistics (including customs brokerage), warehousing, procurement, and lease agreements for EU operations.
- Managing high-volume contracting workflows efficiently and meeting business deadlines.
- Developing and maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and approval processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Leading and/or coordinating ad hoc legal projects related to logistics, warehousing, procurement operations, and/or trade compliance.
- Developing, reviewing, and enhancing internal policies and procedures to support business operations and ensure legal compliance.
- Supporting business teams with day-to-day commercial legal queries and providing pragmatic, business focused advice.
- Working closely with the other members of the Europe legal team and global legal function on regional and cross-border projects as needed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail, experience in logistics, customs brokerage, warehousing, supply chain, procurement, and lease agreements is a major plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive initiatives to completion.
- Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize effectively, and to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European and global legal teams.
- Commercially minded and pragmatic approach to legal advice, balanced with sound professional judgment.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (both required as working languages).
