Position Summary
This is an exciting senior legal role for a UK, Irish or another European jurisdiction qualified commercial lawyer supporting SHEIN’s business and operations in the region. This will be a broad advisory role dealing with general commercial matters working directly with senior stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about e-commerce and innovation, enjoy a fast-paced environment and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal support to business teams in relation to a wide range of commercial matters the business generally faces.
- Collaborating with the relevant business teams to ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations, implementing and improving processes and procedures.
- Keeping appraised of the latest laws and regulations impacting the company and its operations in the region and advise on best practice accordingly.
- Dealing with regulatory authorities on consultation, enquiries and investigations.
- Working closely with the rest of the EMEA team and the global legal team on group’s global and region legal and compliance projects.
- Managing external counsel.
- Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification at reputable law firm and/or large corporations. Good amount of in-house experience required.
- Practical experience in one or more of the following areas is essential: consumer protection, digital regulations relevant for marketplace, trade and logistics, product regulation, payment or IP, or other experiences gained from an e-commerce or marketplace or related business.
- High degree of independence, initiative, and good judgement. Commercial and pragmatic in your approach to legal advice whilst maintaining a strong sense of professional accountability.
- Experience and capacity to lead multi-jurisdictional projects and coordinate external advisors.
- Ability to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European and global legal teams.
