Sheffield United Women\'s Team are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Under-10s Head Coach to lead the coaching and matchday programme for the Under 10s age group. This key role will play a vital part in delivering the Club\'s Game Model, supporting the development of young players as they transition into the Professional Game Academy (PGA).
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a high-performance environment that aligns with \'The Blades Way\', ensuring players are technically and tactically prepared to compete in the Club\'s style of play. Working closely with the wider Academy staff - including medical, sports science, and player support teams - the role requires strong organisational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in youth development. The coach will also contribute to player assessment, retention decisions, and the management of individual development plans through accurate record keeping and regular analysis.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Club\'s Game Model, in conjunction with the coaching framework, taking responsibility for the coaching and match day programmes for the Under 10s age group.
- Manage the Under 10s fixture programme, ensure the team is set up to compete in all fixtures.
- Deliver pre- and post-match team and individual analysis, in line with club framework.
- Support and develop the ETC players within the U10s age group.
- Work with the ETC Youth Pathway Lead to make decisions on ETC players who are on rolling 10 week blocks
Support the Academy Manager with the delivery of coaching and training sessions other than the Under 10s squad, as requested by the Academy Manager.
- Work with the Academy Operations Manager to ensure appropriate communication of schedule (times/dates) at which specific elements of the coaching programme and match day programme will be delivered (and any amendments to this schedule).
- Implement and maintain Club appropriate standards, practices and procedures, referred to as \'The Blades Way\', for the safe and effective operation of the Under 10s Squad. Creating a high-performance environment and values-based culture that maximises the potential of players and staff.
- Establish and maintain, through the use of Kitman Labs and other club systems, the comprehensive and up-to date records of players within the Under 10s squad.
- Work with the Academy medical team in relation to the fitness and medical treatment of all players in the Under 10s squad.
- Work with the Academy S&C team in relation to all sports science and physical performance matters relating to the Under 10s squad.
- Work with the Academy Player Support team (Safeguarding, Player Care, Education and Psychology) in relation to all relevant Player Care, Wellbeing and Safeguarding matters relating to the Under 10s squad.
- Make recommendations regarding the recruitment / retention or otherwise of youth players in the Under 10s squad, and in cooperation with the Clubs Academy Management Team.
- Create and maintain a positive relationship with all local/regional clubs to provide dual registration and stretching opportunities for players.
- Attend when requested, and positively contribute towards the Academy Operational Group, providing reports as and when required
- Act and behave at all times to project a professional image of Sheffield United Football Club and act in the best interests of the Club.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
Club Wide Responsibilities:

- Carry out/take part in training requests as directed by the Club.

Essential Criteria:
- UEFA C License
- FA Licensed Coach
- Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAIF)
- FA Safeguarding Children
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor elite youth players and/or coaches, with a solid grasp of learning, development, and high-performance principles, and a track record of creating effective learning environments.
- Completion of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check upon successful offer receipt
- Empathetic approach with young players, demonstrating an ability to inspire
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with club staff at all levels including 1st team
- Empathy and commitment to the long-term development of the game
Desirable Criteria:
- Track record of producing high performing youth players who have reached First Team Level
