Sheffield United FC Academy are seeking two Academy Coaches to join our coaching team and contribute to the ongoing development of our Academy players.
Working alongside the Heads of Coaching and wider multidisciplinary team, the successful candidates will deliver age-specific technical and tactical coaching in line with the Club's philosophy, playing style and player development objectives.
The role will combine high-quality coaching with a wider responsibility for player development, including contributing to performance reviews, identifying Individual Learning Plans and supporting decisions around player progression and retention.
Role Schedules
- 1 x role - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (Games Programme)
- 1 x role - Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday (Games Programme)
Core Role Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Heads of Coaching to deliver age-specific technical and tactical coaching programme for players in Academy in accordance with the Club's wider philosophy and strategy.
- Support a suitable games programme to underpin the coaching programme.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive and up-to date record of players within your allocated age group on the Academy platform ensuring this information is kept up to date throughout the course of the season and treated confidentially.
- Communicate with the MDT regarding the wellbeing of players within your specific age group.
- Take part in clubs internal CPD sessions.
- Fulfil the Coaching Competency Framework (CCF)
- Play a role in the release and retention process for signed players within your specific age group.
- In conjunction with the MDT, manage the process of player performance reviews organised and delivered throughout the season to players within your age group.
- Identify Individual Learning Plans (ILP's) for players within specific age groups.
- Ensure completion of any mandatory training required for the role, including internal club training around Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
- Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
- Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role-specific safety instruction.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

- Experience of working in a football environment (Full-time or Part-time)

- Excellent Communication Skills with the ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians, players of all age ranges and coaches across all phases
