We are looking to appoint to a whole time Locum Consultant Geriatrician to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. This is a fixed term post for 6 months.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Any candidate who chooses not to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The Integrated Geriatric and Stroke Medicine Directorate is part of our Combined Community and Acute Care Group. The Care Group incorporates two other Directorates – Integrated Community Care, and Therapeutics and Palliative care. We work together across the group to support patient pathways and maximise integration.
As part of our consultant team, the appointee will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive and high-quality Geriatric Medicine at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. They will lead a multidisciplinary team to care for a cohort of patients on one of our Geriatric Medicine base wards, working alongside another Consultant Geriatrician.
The appointee will be expected to take an active part in the Clinical Governance activities of the Directorate, both in relation to continuing professional development and the quality and effectiveness of clinical services.
