The Role
Sheffield Students\β Union is proud to be recognised as the UK\βs Number One Students\β Union, and we\βre entering an ambitious new chapter shaped by our refreshed strategy. At the heart of this transformation is our newly established Student Influence, Partnerships and Policy team, and we are looking for a confident, motivated and organised Partnerships and Policy Coordinator to help deliver this exciting work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the UK\βs largest and most diverse student communities and to build and maintain student influence. You will support the implementation of projects that put student voice at the heart of policy conversations in Sheffield and beyond.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape how one of the UK\βs largest and most diverse student communities, 30,000 students strong, engages with civic life and national decision-making. The Partnerships & Policy team exists to listen to students, identify opportunities for meaningful impact, and build a sustainable system of representation, democracy and campaigning that reflects and serves all our members, including undergraduate, postgraduate, global majority, disabled, LGBTQIA+, and mature students. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of an ambitious strategy that puts student voice at the heart of policy conversations across Sheffield and beyond.
As a key member of this new team, you\βll help coordinate partnerships and projects, organise events and meetings, and contribute to briefings and research that support our policy work. You will work closely with student representatives, helping them prepare for external engagements and ensuring their voices are informed, visible and impactful.
We\βre looking for someone who is enthusiastic about civic engagement and passionate about student-led change. You should be a strong communicator, interested in policy, well-organised and comfortable working with others to deliver collaborative projects. Experience in partnership working or public policy is welcome, but more important is your willingness to learn, adapt and contribute to a fast-paced and purposeful environment.
If you\βre excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to students\β lives through policy and partnerships, we\βd love to hear from you.
