Overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced individual to the role of Operations Officer at Sheffield Springs Academy. It is anticipated that the role will last approximately 12 to 15 months to cover maternity leave. This role will support the Operations Manager in embedding systems and procedures across the academy and in supporting day‑to‑day operations. The successful post‑holder will be a key team member, ensuring the smooth running of all operational functions. This role will provide an exciting opportunity to support the Operations Manager and contribute to the operational excellence of an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ academy.

Responsibilities & Requirements

This role requires a focused, organised, proactive and passionate individual. The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience as a line manager with excellent communication and team‑building skills.
  • Be able to coach and mentor colleagues effectively.
  • Possess validated operational services experience.
  • Have experience developing a high‑quality administrative service.
  • Demonstrate strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Be able to present operational proposals in a simple and effective way to senior internal collaborators.
  • Have good collaborator skills, including setting expectations and balancing conflicting demands.
  • Be proficient in report writing and presenting to a variety of audiences.
  • Poss excellent IT skills.
  • Be able to contribute to the review and development of policies and procedures.
  • Have good organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Adapt to a changing and diverse workload with autonomy and resilience.
  • Show commitment to safeguarding.
