The CNC Turning / Sliding Head & Mill Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator will be able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards the continuous improvement of their own work and that of a highly skilled team. Also, to demonstrate initiative, be flexible, and able to work well under pressure. At this time the role is on day shift and may cover a varied shift on an alternating weekly basis across varied turning principles. We are also looking for applicants who are willing to further their and the company’s skillset towards its machining and programming capabilities.

- STAR SV-32 - Sliding Head (x3)
- STAR SJ-20 - Sliding Head
- HAAS DS-30Y - Slant Bed
- HAAS ST-20Y - Slant Bed
- HAAS SL-20 - Slant Bed (x2)
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Multi-task on sliding-head and slant-bed turning with live tooling capabilities.
- Ability to read detailed engineering drawings.
- Create CNC programmes from engineering drawings.
- Produce machined components to tight tolerances.
- Inspect own work; Comprehensive use of measuring equipment (Verniers, Micrometres, Gauges, Shadow graphs etc.).
- Have the ability to work unsupervised in line with designated deadlines/production schedule and problem solving.
- Have the ability to consistently maintain high levels of quality and adherence to work processes.
- Good housekeeping in the area of operation; Take the opportunity to demonstrate, and be rewarded for, high standards, in a modern, clean environment using well maintained machines.
- Show clear drive to promote the maximisation of production output and the common goal to promote full section machine utilisation and effective flow of work in and out of section, while minimising machine downtime.
- Own responsibility for following good manufacturing practice and health & safety protocols.
- Adhere to requirements of the Company’s policy and quality assurance protocol.
- Work within a team whilst having accountability for your own quality and output.
- Work in a team, assisting your colleagues and contributing to a company goal of being the best in the business.

General Guidelines:
- Have a helpful attitude towards all personnel, fostering good working relationships.
- Give specific attention to detail to those on their section and other sections as required by management.
- Good time keeping.
- Maintain good working practises.
- Uphold Company policies including but not exhaustive of, eating and drinking policy, mobile phones and IT equipment policies.
- Maintain responsibility for own safety, implementing Health and Safety policy, which is relevant to their section.
- Monitoring of equipment within section and identifying maintenance requirements and notifying management.
- Flexibility is key in this new role. We are looking for someone to cover possible afternoon and night shift patterns. Hours to be discussed further at interview.
Shift Pattern & Benefits:
- 7am-3pm Mon-Fri (Potential shift pattern alternating weekly: First shift 6am to 2pm Mon to Fri; Second shift 1pm to 11pm Mon to Thu).
- Break-time - 30 mins Lunchbreak (15 mins Breakfast-break gesture if starting at 7am or before).
- Over-time Rate - Mon-Sat: x0.5 / Sun: Double-time.
- Company Bonus - Company Output/Performance dependant.
- Holiday Allowance - 26 Days + 8 Statutory (34 / Yr).
- Pension Plan - State: Company 3% / Employee 5% (Auto-enrol, Opt-out optional).
