The Clinical Lead will be a visible member of the SCLDS Leadership Team, proactively supporting the multi-disciplinary SCLDS to achieve high standards of clinical care delivery across multiple professional boundaries. You will lead and present complex, sensitive, and challenging clinical and professional communication processes that may impact on service users, carers, staff, the team, the organisation, partner agencies, and members of the public, where there are barriers to understanding.
Main Duties of the Job
The Clinical Lead post is a pivotal position to drive forward the ambitions of the Learning Disabilities transformation programme, developing and delivering on good quality, multi-disciplinary care. Responsibilities include timely access to services, positive experience and outcomes, the delivery of equitable person-centred care, and actively working to reduce health inequalities for those we support.
You will be a visible member of the SCLDS Leadership Team, proactively supporting the multi-disciplinary SCLDS to achieve high standards of clinical care delivery across multiple professional boundaries. You will be responsible for Multi-professional Quality, Safety, Clinical Risk, Strategy, Transformation and Planning.
The Clinical Lead will work with Clinical Directors, Senior Managers, and Professional Leads to develop and implement the clinical strategic & transformational developments in SCLDS and, with other colleagues, more broadly in SHSC and the wider system.
The Clinical Lead will work closely with the Senior Responsible Officer leading improvement work across South Yorkshire on Stopping over-medication of People with Learning Disability (STOMP) and The Learning Disability Mortality Review (LeDeR).

Job Responsibilities
The Clinical Lead Will:
- Share senior leadership and clinical management responsibly for all aspects of clinical quality, performance, standards, regulation, and delivery with the General Manager and Lead Nurse.
- Be a visible advocate who leads the strategic clinical development of the SCLDS across all the professional teams in SCLDS which best serve those who access and are supported by the SCLDS.
- Ensure SCLDS staff behaviours and attitudes reflect Trust vision and values and create a culture where these values can thrive.
- Share responsibility for achieving high standards of care; clinical governance; high operational performance; sound financial management; and improving productivity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, notably the Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, Mental Health Capacity Act, Health and Social Care Act, and Data Protection Act within SCLDS.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Active senior clinical practice.
- Competent in implementation of robust clinical governance arrangements that demonstrate \"Floor to Board\" assurance.
- Thorough understanding of the relationship between quality and efficiency, including Cost Improvements, and Quality and Equality Impact Assessments.
- Ability to work with multiple professionals in pragmatically solving problems.

Training and Qualifications

- Degree level (or equivalent) professional qualification, e.g., Nursing, Psychology, Psychological Therapy, Allied Health Professional, and Social Worker.
- Registered with a relevant professional regulatory body, with a Licence to Practice or equivalent as appropriate.
- Management and leadership training or relevant qualification.
Desirable
- Postgraduate Degree level (or equivalent) professional qualification in the field of Learning Disability or Mental Health.
Experience

- Extensive post qualification experience of working within Learning Disabilities.
- Experience of senior clinical leadership, working within and between teams and organisations.
- Experience of developing and delivering person-centred care within an evidence-based framework.
