Grade 4 – £26,707 to £27,319 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience.
The role involves working within the Sport Operations Team, assisting the onsite Duty Supervisor to support the safe and efficient provision of Sport Hallam facilities and services. You will play an important part in delivering excellent student and customer support to all stakeholders.
- Monitoring safe practice for indoor sports activities.
- Setting up equipment for indoor sports activities and outdoor pitches, including basic domestic and housekeeping duties.
- Hospitality and front‑of‑house service.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, contributes effectively to a can‑do culture, seeks solutions to problems and challenges, works dynamically, and is flexible in line with service needs. This role presents an opportunity to work with a wide selection of people including sports professionals, elite athletes, coaches, community members, and beginners new to sport, fitness, or physical activity. You will need to demonstrate high standards of customer service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across the whole staff team.
Shift pattern: These roles require regular shift work at a variety of venues. The sites are open between 8.30 am – 10:15 pm. Cover for other team members may occasionally be required and will be agreed with the team. Shift pattern details are available in the job details document on the university website.
The Sport Services Team: Sport Hallam sits within Student Success and is responsible for operating four sport facilities:
- Sheffield Hallam Sports Park
- Sheffield Hallam City Athletics Stadium
- City Gym
- Pearson Gym
With a team of approximately 45 contracted staff and a support team of over 60, you will become part of a workforce passionate about transforming lives through sport and physical activity.
