Overview

This opportunity would ideally suit a Band 7 or an experienced Band 6 Dietitian working in the NHS (or equivalent) with expertise in formal teaching, training and supervision.

About the role

You will be involved in leading the delivery of the MSc Dietetics course and contributing to the BSc Hons Dietetics – Degree Apprenticeship courses and inter-professional portfolio. You will inspire, enthuse and connect with our students from a range of backgrounds and contribute to their learning experience while preparing them for contemporary dietetic practice. There is also an opportunity to develop your career and academic profile and to enhance teaching through studying for the Postgraduate Certificate - Teaching in Higher Education, as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the MSc Dietetics course and contribute to the BSc Hons Dietetics – Degree Apprenticeship courses and inter-professional portfolio.
  • Inspire and connect with students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to their learning experience while preparing them for contemporary dietetic practice.
  • Teach, assess and engage in research activities for pre-registration masters and apprenticeship courses, while supporting academic citizenship and maintaining strong links with practice partners.
  • Lead dietetic pre-registration education within the team and retain strong links with practice partners.

Qualifications and experience

  • HCPC-registered dietitian with well-developed current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary dietetic practice.
  • Ideally at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS (primary or secondary settings) with experience in formal teaching and pre-registration dietetic education.
