Job Description:

Associate Lecturers in MBAs and Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) College of Business, Tech. & Engineering Academic Grade 7 – £39,906 to £44,746 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

The role

We are looking to expand our team of inspirational Associate Lecturers who deliver high quality learning experiences with expertise gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both. You may be asked to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and may also contribute to the design of some learning activities. We are looking for a number of Associate Lecturers in the following areas:

  • MBA (for the MBA programmes, Dissertation supervision and related activities)
  • IOSH (Events Management students)

The department

Join our passionate and dynamic academic team, committed to delivering transformative, innovative, and inspirational learning experiences. You\’ll help prepare students for successful careers in Management (MBA level) and Events, with opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications such as IOSH. We offer a highly regarded portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, underpinned by strong partnerships with professional bodies and close links with industry. Our curricula are carefully designed to align with current business needs, ensuring our students graduate with the skills and knowledge employers value. The department has approximately 6,000 students and 220 academic staff. It has a long history dating back to the 1950s, before it was formally branded as the Sheffield Business School in 1986, which has since had significant success. We are a leading applied Business School with a mission to lead transformative change for our students, businesses, and society. As a member of our community, you will join a diverse group of talented academics who pride themselves in developing inclusive teaching and learning experiences and engage in scholarship and knowledge exchange that makes a real societal impact. We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment. You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country. Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a starting salary of £40,000, for example, the University would pay just over £11,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £702 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
